THE STORY SO FAR

It started out as a dream.

We nurtured our first small business - Little Blue Macaron - with hopes of opening a coffee shop and retail location where our clients can more easily grab our macarons whenever needed.

In planning out our own little shop, we ran into two significant patterns that got us thinking about the bigger picture.

  1. Brick-and-mortar space is hard to come by, particularly at small sizes. And the financial burden for a small business to start their own small retail shop isn’t always something we/they can take on. How do you know what will work best when you’re going straight from pop-up markets into retail?

2. There is a significant need for membership kitchens that have a focus on the needs of bakers, confectioners, and everyone else under the general “pastry” umbrella. Larger kitchens are wonderful at catering the needs of a wide audience, but a smaller, more baking-focused kitchen could really be a boon to small pastry businesses in the area looking to grow.

This is where Little Blue Bakehouse comes in! Our mission is to create a place that is an affordable entryway for pastry chefs and bakers to one day have their own brick-and-mortar shops; a place were they can demonstrate their sales in a retail setting, and prove to investors and banks that their dreams can be possible. Little Blue Bakehouse will be a stepping stone for small pastry businesses to overcome the initial hurtles and obstacles that come with growing your business.
